2nd International Training school
July 17-20, 2023 (Athens, Greece)
The NETPORE training school will be held in the beautiful city of Agia Paraskevi, Athens, Greece, from 17th – 24th July 2023 at the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, National Centre for Scientific Research "Demokritos", (GPS 37.9994° N, 23.8192° E).
 
 
 
Coming to Athens from the Airport
Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos is the best choice to arrive by plane. The Airport is located 33 km southeast of Athens. The drive to downtown Athens takes 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic.
 

BY METRO

Metro Line 3 connects the airport to the city centre (Syntagma Square). The journey time is approximately 40 minutes. Trains run every 30 minutes, 7 days a week from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm. One way tickets cost €9 (€4.50 for children, teenagers, over 65), return tickets cost €16.
 

BY BUS

24-hour express buses connect Athens International Airport with the city centre (Syntagma Square) and other places in Athens. These non-stop services operate daily, including public holidays. All buses drop off passengers at the Departures Level and depart from the Arrivals Level. Bus tickets are sold at the ticket booth outside the Arrivals hall (between Exits 4 and 5.) One way tickets cost €5.50 (€2.70 for children, teenagers, over 65).

The most suitable express bus route from the airport to the city center is:
 •  X95: Airport - Syntagma Square (Estimated journey time: 60 minutes)

From the Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos
By Bus: Take the bus X95 from the Airport towards Syntagma, and get off at the "Nomismatokopio". Cross the road to the opposite direction and take the B5 bus or the 407 and 406 buses towards the direction of Aghia Paraskevi, and get off at the "4th stop of Ag. Paraskevi / Demokritos". The bus stop is very close to the main entrance of NCSR Demokritos. Depending on the traffic, the journey from the airport of Athens may take from 60 to 75 minutes.

By Metro and Bus: Take line 3 of the metro (blue line) to "Agia Marina" direction and get off at "Nomismatokopio" stop. Follow the "Kondylaki" exit where you can reach the bus station. Take the B5 bus or the 407 and 406 buses towards the direction of Aghia Paraskevi, and get off at the "4th stop of Ag. Paraskevi / Demokritos". The bus stop is next to the main entrance of NCSR Demokritos. Depending on the traffic, this journey from the airport of Athens may take approximately 35 minutes.

By Taxi: Taking a taxi from the airport of Athens to NCSR Demokritos costs approximately 40 Euros. Depending on the traffic, the journey from the centre of Athens may take approximately 20 minutes.
