Research field (Free keywords) Photoelectrochemistry; electrocatalysis; electrochemical sensors; biomedical materials; drug delivery
Scientific expertise I have over 20 years of experience in the synthesis and characterization of advanced nanostructured semiconductor and oxide materials, including anodic aluminum oxide (AAO), anodic titanium oxide (ATO), zinc oxide, tin oxide, tungsten oxide and others. I specialize in the electrochemical oxidation of metals and their modification, which enables obtaining materials with different surface geometry and, consequently, various properties. I have also experience in the AAO template -assisted fabrication of nanowire, nanotube and nanodot arrays for electrocatalysis. My interest is focused on three areas that are focused on different applications of the materials mentioned above, i.e., (i) materials for energy conversion and storage, (ii) novel biomaterials, and (iii) application of nanostructures in sensing devices.
Capabilities I have knowledge and equipment for the synthesis, modification, and characterization of porous materials with potential applications in the field of energy conversion and storage, biocompatible materials for implants and drug delivery, and electrochemical sensors. Moreover, in my group we can perform some basic and advanced electrochemical, photochemical, photoelectrochemical, and biological experiments. I will be able to host short-term scientific missions at the Faculty of Chemistry, providing participants with excellent scientific facilities and experienced scientists.
