My Research field is PS+SiO2 polymer nanocomposites and their thermal properties The main goal of the research is to obtain PS+ SiO2 nanocomposites, study their structure and thermal properties experimentally, and find out how the concentration of included nanoparticles affects the structure and thermal properties of these composites.In our study, we incorporated SiO2 nanoparticles in the size range of 70-50nm into the polystyrene polymer using the solution mixing method. And we studied the structure and thermal properties of the obtained composite. We used a UV-vis and IR spectrometer and also an X-ray diffractometer to determine the structure of the obtained composites. We used DSC TGA and DTG analyzers to study the thermal properties of polymer-based nanocomposites. The effect of the surface defects of the amorphous SiO2 we used on the structure and properties of the composite and its mechanism were investigated by us. |
